I used this concept to form my meaning of authorship and Creation art. The concepts underlining meaning(to myself) is that when an artist or author dies they are not their to defend their art so interpretation is changed over time from the authors vision of a piece to what the viewers interpretation is further down the line. It signifies that what we leave behind can long be left for agenda setting and more exploration.
The positive to this is further understanding of ones self, story telling and the world around them through the act of being a viewer or observer. The negative trait is that when you use authorship and make something public it's never yours again. You may get popular enough to be associated as being your art work in circles, but in the modern age, if your art is a success the average viewer will pull the image and post it to social media without a care to who made the image.
The concept has made me view art different than most as when I make something, I have a dis- connection to it, I usually end up hating everything I make, but I keep doing it because I enjoy the active process and the community that likes art and authorship. I think it takes the pressure off knowing no matter what I do in art that the viewer owns the interpretation at the end of the day. The concept in my opinion shows that art stands on its own without the artists interpretation, unless that artist is using themselves as the artwork as an overall art performer. If you create like I do.We create our own things, we don't ever see it as new.
