Important Authors Note First: Just because a photograph is old doesn't mean its not fake. Look at Photoshop and the tools you use there are named after real processes from old photo editing techniques.
I'm going to use the most visible example of this I can think of at this point, which is the mother cat crossing the road while a traffic cop holds back traffic for it. You may think that it was taken on the spot at a singular time, when this image was staged and retaken several times, yet a lot of people are fooled by thinking its genuinely a real moment. It  a directed and orchestrated, the scene was taken multiple times and the traffic cop held the traffic for a considerably long period to get that shot. The cat was placed at the other end of the street several times to cross again and the viewer is left being told that genuinely the scene did happen before it was orchestrated.
The Public Relations in the image, shows that authority can be generally caring and understand there are more important things than their set job and that humanity shows through. yet, the concept of being stage kind of feels like a lie in an after site when you know it's staged and in my opinion destroys its original intent, yet there are people to this day believe this is a genuine photograph. It makes me wonder how genuine a photograph can be when used with the general public as photographs like any other means of communication can be and is used to misinform the public, even though the photograph I'm referring to most likely never meant to be public relations for authority, but at this point due to a change in interpretation and time it could be.
